Meet Iyeh Kennedy, Future Awards Nominee Who Developed Nigeria's First Herbal Hand Sanitizer and More Of His Achievements

Iyeh Kennedy Onyekachi is just like every other young Nigerian out there but he chose to standout from the crowd and impact positively on his community and society at large instead of sitting back and trolling people online or blaming the government. The change he dreams of has started with him courtesy of his projects that earned him a nomination in 2016 Future Awards. He was nominated alongside Wizkid and others, as Young person of the year (people aged 18-32 years) and hopefully he would bring back the award and continue to inspire more people!

NBB had a brief chat with him and found out more about him, his projects; both actualized and those in still in view.

Kennedy was born to the family of Rev. Gad & Evang. Esther Iyeh in Imo state. He went to Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu where he studied Microbiology. He is a spoken word artist, poet,writer,motivational speaker, microbiology inventor/researcher and  a graduate assistant lecturer at Godfrey Okoye Uni.

 The 21-year-old, also runs an organisation, Tall Walker Organisation, which operates in Awka and Enugu with plans of expanding in the nearest future. It has four arms;

  • Tall Walker Foundation, which caters for cancer patients and the less privileged

  • Tall Walker Events caters for event planning and management

  • Tall Walker Media caters for photograpy and graphics

  • Attitude adjustment movement, aimed at re-branding Nigerian youths and turning them into selfless society changers and leaders.
Below are some of his actualized projects which he feels are the reasons he was nominated for the prestigious award;

  • Conceptualization and production of Nigeria's First Herbal Hand Sanitizer with his course mates in school. This was actively used in his school, Godfery Okoye University, during the Ebola breakout in Nigeria
  • Staff room renovation at St John of God secondary school, Awka
  • Anambra Urban Sanitation movement tagged 'Pick It Up'. Courtesy of Anambra state, he donated 6 waste receptacles.
  • Free HIV testing, sensitization and distribution of condoms in Nibo and Mbaukwu communities. This was with the support of society for family health.
  • Free malaria testing,sensitisation and distrisbution of 500 insecticide treated nets in Nibo and Mbaukwu community members, supported by members and Miss Akor Faith, Vice president of Attitude Adjustment Movements (AAM)
  • Freedom of Information Act trainer for Anambra state NYSC camp.
He has appealed on well meaning Nigerians to reach out and support visions financially, as there are many projects in view that would impact positively to the society.
