Diary Of A Nigerian Skinny Girl; The Upside Part Of Our Life!

Hey Dear,
My name is Vee! I'm an averagely tall girl that weighs 50kg, as a matter of fact, I have weighed 50Kg for over 6years. I'm size 6 too. Now you should have a mental picture of myself and physique.

If you think life is so glamorous and easy for we them slim/skinny girls because people like Beyonce and other celebrities get photo shopped to look slim and we them slim girls are the ones you see on the cover of Magazines, until recently when plus size people make it to the cover of mags, hell no. It ain't that rosy and glamorous all the way.

Now let me take you through the upside part of our life!

We get booed at; unlike what most of you think, we don't get admired all the time. We get mocked at, they say we may get carried away by breeze!
Guys don't help issues too, they say they need some flesh to support that shagging system..but we got bones,,poor  us!

Once upon a time, my other skinny friend was mistaken for a cloth dummy in the market, it was until she moved, that they shockingly realized she's human and was bold enough to say they thought she was a dummy so loud that we heard them, pheew!

A designer denied me a job once upon a time while I was actively modeling..because according to her 'I was so small'...she said I couldn't bring out the beauty of her design the way she wants...so I lost the dress.

People think my parents are so broke and can't feed me properly..they even ask if I hate food or anorexic..omg! these are the blunt ones. The shy ones offer me food, plenty of it,like I have been starving all year round. Smh

Bottom line is, Life isn't that glamorous for us them slim girls, as most people think, except for the occasional compliments that sometimes ends with 'soon when you marry and give birth, your shape would change', some even say having unprotected sex with penis load of sperm would some changes. WOW!!

  2. You need to see my baby picture, I was the shubby thing that everyone wanTed to hold...untill I started growing.
I've been a small size almost all my life ...but gone are the days when I felt bad about it. I also think up here, people see slim as more healthy unlike when I was back home, the reverse was the case. I got similar market experiences. Esp when you ignore their pussy calls, or got mad when anyone touched you. I hated when anybody calls me 'ogwu azu' or 'atinga'. Sometimes when I wore my jeans, I pad it up wiv a thick short in order to appear thicker that side.Chai. But good news is that my chest is not in alignment with the body, at least there is a curve somewhere...
Today, one of my greatest gift is my body shape, and I'm sure it's gone be greater in like 20years to come when I'll be looking like 18, and all those my mates that shamed me be looking their age's, say 45... it Wil be a glorious feeling.
    Slim rocks...
    Welcome mate!'hight five' lol

Ps. I'm a glutton, aka foodie. And you know that feeling when you can eat anything you want confidently..
    Cheers!

  6. Slim girls o! A married woman has told me abt the unprotected sex thing, how she was much slimmer than I was till she got married and how it is believed that sperm makes a woman add weight. And there's this annoying part where I sometimes lose weight (the little) and everyone goes "are you well"? And then you got people you ain't even close to making very loud jokes about your weight, that's so insulting!

  7. Lol! I love skinny. I love me. Being big or chubby is a turn off for me. More often than normal, people will be like: guy, do you eat at all?. Please add a little weight naw, just small. Each time I get that teasing of how slim I am, my reply will always be, "common, I know you're dying to have this my weight. People pay and go on diets just to hit my weight, cut me some slack mehn".
I don't wanna gain more weight, the thing moves like a pendulum. Add 1 or 2 kg today, by tomorrow it drops, after a while I pick it up again, then again it drops... On and on it goes.
Trust me, everybody wanna be slim, no matter how hard you lie to yourself. The biggies know... They just try so hard to be slim.
We just need to appreciate what we have, the favourable or unfavorable gestures shouldn't be a determinant for self love. 😉😉😉

  10. Ok!!! So I recently joined the "skinny girl" train and I swear I don't even get any more compliments about my hair or cloth. Mba!!!! It's all about, you have lost weight, this and that. I say I don't have boobs cos I'm slim, several guys have told me I need it to be "squeezed" oshe orange groove. It's disheartening. I even have sm1 who has said "very soon you will disappear", then loads me with food like I'm hungry. Omo if na by food, I for don blow. And then the "sperm" thing comes in... Blah blah blah. Did I mention someone called me POUND OF BONES you know coined from pound of flesh??? Nwanneka asked me to start taking "Eggovin", whatever that is... I'm shaa used to it
