For the past few days, Linda ikeji has come under heavy fire from Nigerians for misrepresenting the family of Mayowa Ahmed on her blog.

Mayowa is a young Nigerian woman stricken with stage 4 ovarian cancer whom Nigerians rallied round in an astounding show of love to donate funds to enable her seek treatment abroad. The sick woman met and even exceeded the target of $100,000 (N32million) as donations continued to pour in.

A source contacted the celebrity blogger to inform her that doctors had advised Mayowa’s family that her case was hopeless as she was past being saved, but her family went ahead to appeal for public donations with the intention to scam innocent Nigerians. From evidences gathered, it seemed Linda published the story on her blog without properly verifying its authenticity. The story soon gave birth to a terrible saga that put the credibility and integrity of the Ahmed family at stake to the extent that the police became involved.

In an obvious attempt to ridicule Linda for this seeming goof, some mischievous person took to herWikipedia page and edited it with derogatory names and titles.
