The multi-billion naira Delta State government-owned Independent Power Plant (IPP) sited at Oghara, the hometown of former governor of the state, Chief James Ibori was ravaged by fire, in a yet to be ascertained circumstance on Monday night. The commissioner for power and energy, Gloria Okolubo, led a delegation of the ministry and the contracting firm, Davnotch Nigeria Ltd, to the scene in the early hours of yesterday, apparently to obtain information about the fire and ascertain the extent of damage. According to Leadership news, the major equipment were intact, with the fire only ravaging some accessories.
