The 78 year old Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi 111 on Wednesday inked a deal with CARO WHITE as its ambassador. The ceremony which held at the palace attracted prominent bleached-out mamas like Toke Makinwa, Dayo Amusa and Iyabo Ojo, and others.
The monarch alongside his white wives signed a four year contract that sees them touring the black continent promoting the whitener.
Mr Gabby Whyte, Nigeria's representative of Caro White showed his excitement. He described the deal as very significant for both his company and the royal family.
“I’m super delighted.” He said at the ceremony.
“I’m happy Caro White is now a thing of royalty. As you might be aware of, the revered Oba is a big fan of our product. Members of the royal family in general never hesitate to flaunt their preference for Caro White, whether under the sun or in the rain, home or abroad.
“When we approached him to consider our offer he initially said no. He argued that he is too old to be an ambassador of a beauty brand.
“We eventually convinced him that his age is more of an advantage. His beautiful wives made him realize that he saves his people from darkness by identifying with us.
“He never made any big demand on us. He reminded us over and over again that he will do it not for the financial benefit but for the joy of promoting something he so much values, I mean, money is not problem, he places value over money, anyday”
Famous Yoruba Musician, Femi Kuti called the deal shameful and un-African. He wondered why a traditional ruler who is a custodian of his people’s culture and features not only chooses to tamper with his skin colour but rubs such act on the faces of his subjects. As a result , he went about doing this;
Controversial Ibadan deportee, Kemi Olunloyo on the other hand hailed Oba Adeyemi’s action. She thinks it was humble of him to be associated with a product loved by the ordinary people of his kingdom. And she argues that Caro White is already one of the monarch’s people’s culture which he should protect.
Fortunately, businessmen in Ibadan are already ordering trailer load of Caro white cream as they expect a massive patronage of the cream after the Alaafin endorsed the cream.
A last year research by a team of reliable scientists revealed that the renowned whitening cream delivers most effectively if consistently applied after a warm bath with hypo. The research established that they perfectly complement each other. Through a series of reaction, hypo weakens the root of the the melanin, making it easy to be rubbed off by even and consistent application of the whitening cream. This combination, when generously applied for a week or two could Lupita Nyong'o an albino overnight.
The monarch is already scheduled to start his promotional tour. Next week he heads to South Sudan accompanied by his wives. The young war-torn East African country is notorious for producing folks who are dark to their teeth, and Caro White is thus taking the light to them through the help of the Alaafin.
