This Is Something Toke Makinwa Would Never Do!

In as much the no-makeup train is becoming a trend in Hollywood and not Nollywood, this is something our beloved Toke would never do unless it has a lot of extra fringe benefits attached to it...Have you ever seen her in no make up?? Well,Gabrielle Union has hopped on that train too.

Alicia Keys started the bare face revolution in hollywood after she appeard on Red carpet with her bare face. This trend is fast gaining momentum among leading women in Hollywood.

Gabrielle Union being the latest to join the trend shared a makeup free selfie on Snapchat complete with freckles and a head wrap, drawing inspiration from Alicia Keys

“No makeup, head wrap, hey Alicia Keys I see you!” she captioned the gorgeous shot.

Alicia Keys has faced serious backlash for her decision to go makeup free and her producer husband Swizz Beatz had to come to her defense. While appearing on the Today show, the songstress and mother of two spoke at length about her decision to embrace her natural look and convinced the hosts to wipe their makeup clean on live TV.

“I love makeup too, and it’s all good,” she said during the segment.

“It’s about how you feel, it’s about who you are, it’s about just being who you are and not letting anybody tell you who you should be.”

Surprisingly Mario Dedivanovic, Kim Kardashian’s makeup artiste, who makes a living offbeating faces supports the notion of less makeup and hopes it will stick around.

“We’ve been so bombarded with heavy makeup on social media and youtube, that people are just sick of it,” he noted in an interview with People

“I think people are definitely going to start embracing a softer look. I don’t think it’s necessarily going to be no makeup whatsoever, but im totally all about this natural look. I’m hoping that more natural looks will start trending more. I always say, just because you know how to do all the tricks with makeup doesn’t mean you have to.”

Bare face or full-on-glam, Gabrielle Union, Alicia Keys and others are flawless and we’re glad that they are making space in a society not quite open to the idea of less aesthetics.

Kudos to these women who are challenging the status quo...Toke I'm waiting for you!
