

The Enugu State Government through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism yesterday, Friday 4th Nov, organised Zinox-Yudala-ESUT Summit/ Presentation of YUBOSS Entrepreneurship Scheme - a knowledge-driven initiative on wealth creation that will "grow new sets of entrepreneurs, catalyze private sector investment, contribute to economic growth, make revenue available to the Entrepreneurs and government and help to create hundreds of thousands of jobs and prosperity".
Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has reiterated his administration’s commitment to embark on programmes that would develop and empower youths with entrepreneurial skills for wealth creation and self-sufficiency.
The governor noted that the conscious and continuous empowerment of youths is essential to any society’s development, particularly given the current economic challenges in the country.
“With the number of unemployed youths in Nigeria, it is obvious that urgent, concerted and sustainable measures must have to be taken in order to prevent the situation from spinning out of control", Ugwuanyi said.
He also stressed that the acquisition and deployment of requisite entrepreneurial skills by the youth to manage their own businesses will put them in a prime position to drive economic development in the country, urging them to take advantage of the summit to enhance their capacity and explore business opportunities.
While thanking Yudala for bringing the summit to Enugu, Gov. Ugwuanyi promised to always identify with any initiative that would enable youths in the state actualize their potentials.
In his remark, the Vice Chancellor of ESUT, Prof. Luke Anike disclosed that the institution’s decision to partner Yudala in sponsoring the programme was borne out of the vision to create an enabling environment that will “grow new sets of entrepreneurs, catalyze private sector investment, contribute to economic growth, make revenue available to the Entrepreneurs and government and help to create hundreds of thousands of jobs and prosperity.”
Other speakers at the event include the former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, the Chairman of Zinox Group, Leo Stan Eke, the former Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo, among others.
