Today, 29th November, we celebrate Gwen Divine Ifeonyemetalu as she clocks a year older!. For starters, Miss Gwen is a blogger, multimedia broadcaster and entrepreneur based in the south east, one of the formidable forces to reckon with when it comes to anything media and PR. She works with Godfery Okoye university radio, Enugu as presenter, producer, news editor and reporter! The reporter who hails from Anambra state, was born and raised in Onitsha, Anambra state but relocated and has been living in  Enugu for her university education and subsequent job born out of passion for making an impact in the media.

 Miss Gwen shared a lot of interesting and juicy never heard before facts with NBB, where she talked about her personal life, love life, career, Bobrisky, Linda Ikeji, prospects and more! Keep reading...

On her personal life;

'Work, work, work' she said, but thanks to her friends, she's got a social life as well. She hangs out whenever she's not working but works most times. Whenever she meets a guy, the first thing she notices are his shoes, according to her, she loves good shoes! Her must have accessory is a wrist watch, whereas her most expensive fashion items are a gown and shoes-whose cost she didn't reveal, but cost a fortune!

On love life;
Miss Gwen admitted to NBB that she's in a relationship but not in haste to walk the aisle because she and her man are in a phase of knowing each other better to avoid jumping out of it in haste which seems to be the order of the day lately. She also noted that she dislikes divorces and suggests that it's on a high rate lately because s ex is cheap and people no longer marry their friends but  marry anyone with fat pockets. According to her, people should date for at least 2-5 yrs before walking the aisle depending on how they met. Contrary to what many people think, Miss Gwen doesn't agree that 'Enugu men are disrespectful' -that's  a first, wow!

On Career;
She studied International Relations. Currently works with Gouni radio, Chief editor and blogger at Newsround360 (a total package news website, she co-owns with other like minded youths), an entrepreneur and founder of a foundation which empowers financially handicapped kids,who were not able to be in school with their mates, with free education/tutorials every summer. So as to bridge the educational gap. Doesn't she have a heart of gold??  She further talked about what inspired her into blogging, she said it's been 'a way back idea' because as kid, she always watched NTA News at 9 and listen to radios courtesy of her dad, who ensured so. Thus the passion was developed! Prior to launching her site, she had blogged  for other sites such as Newsround24, South east trends, etc.

Challenges faced as a new blogger;
Attitude people display whenever she admits that she's a blogger, according to her, because she's somehow new, people take it that she's another Linda Ikeji wannabe, who chose  to blog just to make money- these, she insists are wrong notions. 'Linda isn't the first blogger', she said, 'she created her own crowd, there's enough space in the cloud and we too can take a place, there's a lot of competition out there, and most bloggers I know are working and creating their unique brands, so it's not about money'! Linda is a role model but I'm not a Linda wannabe. I'm Gwen!

On what's unique about blog;
Our e-approach to news through newround360 app, giving business owners and young artistes free space to showcase what they do and have to the world. We're taking south east by storm and in few years to come we should have kept some popular bloggers on their toes. Some of them just run ads and friendly posts, and not informing people any more! We would be on top of the game in few years to come!

Is she a social media trend setter??
She said she's not, despite being on the look out whenever any stuff needs social media influence as publicity tool.  'I just own social media accounts, I don't know about that'-she concluded.

Opinion on growth and impact of south east bloggers and OAPs
We're trying but we need to do more, need to keep pushing hard, so that brands, both international and local will think we are in the center hub of the media.

Opinion on Bobrisky
(laughs). He's an unusual character which we don't get to see everyday. I don't support nor dispel him. He's  on his lane.

Birthday Wish(es)
The Grace to achieve all that I have planned out.

Role models;
I have a lot but when it comes to politics, its Ngozi Okonjo iweala, Blogging- Linda ikeji, Media- Cyril Stober.

Advice to up & coming media persons especially OAPs & Bloggers
They shouldn't imitate anyone because it won't just work for them. Strive to self create and beautify their brands!
