South Africa-based Nigerian budding act, Axyel Erimu has released a brand new single, titled 'Weapons Down'.
The pop single enjoins all to eschew all forms of violence and bloodletting and instead embrace peace. At a time the music scene is filled to the brim with tracks lacking meaningful contents, if your soul yearns for an uplifting track whose lyrics makes sense, then this should be it for you.
Co-incidentally, Axyel's hot, sizzling single dropped on a day the world was marking the 9/11 deadly bombing of the World Trade Centre in the US by terrorists, some fifteen years ago. At a time also that Islamist extremists are wreaking havoc in Syria, terrorist elements launching suicide attacks even at the heart of Europe, it is just apt that we all preach peace all around the world, embracing dialogue whenever there is conflict.
The single featuring South African singer Rory and produced by renowned SA-based producer DJ Peet, carries a rich pop flavour. Even though Axyel is a talented artist who is versatile in crisscrossing various music genre, he seems to have a deep affection for pop music . He brings his light yet rich baritone voice into the mix on this one, accompanied by a cool beat that gets you nodding your head while listening, sometimes subconsciously.
This isn't Axyel's first single, though, the talented musician who has great dexterity on the guitar and keyboard has earlier in the year released a highly successful single "Sweet Africa", his first since taking his trade outside the shores of Nigeria. Sweet Africa, a pop single, made it to the top 10 charts on Reverbnation and on www.notjustok.com
