For the woman that has become the talk of Ghana- Nayele Ametefeh, speeding things up and handing over her punishment to her is all she wants, but a Court in London yesterday was not interested in quickly doing that—and therefore adjourned her case to January 5.
Though Nayele Ametefah aka Ruby Appiah did not appear at the Isleworth Crown Court in person, via video link from prison, she pleaded guilty to charges brought against her—bringing cocaine into the UK.
And she expected to hear the length of her sentence yesterday but as reported by MyJoyOnline.Com, “the prosecution prayed the court to adjourn hearing in order to establish the actual quantity of substance [cocaine] carried by the suspect”
Though lawyers for Nayele Ametefeh were looking for a fast track trial style, the prosecutor prayed to the court for some more time to establish the actual quantity of cocaine she brought into the country—which could be more than the 12.5kg we are told or even less.
Whatever it is, the quantity will greatly influence the length of her sentence and the judge agreed.
